SUPPORT & FAQ

Flash Tag AR

What are some tips and tricks for getting Flash Tag to work best?

Lighting: Flash Tag works best in dim to dark lighting, and where the lighting is really even. That means it won't work well outside when it's bright, or even inside if it's bright outside and you are pointing at windows. We find that the best lighting for Flash Tag is inside with dim lights on when it's dark outside.
Devices: Make sure camera lenses are clean. Also, make sure your phone isn't in low battery mode. If you have any issues, try quitting background apps, quitting the app and reopening, or restarting your phone.

Why does Flash Tag not work on some iPhones?

Flash Tag AR requires certain hardware components that are only built into the iPhone 5S and newer (the iPhone 5S, 6, 6 Plus, SE, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X, XR, XS, XS Max). That means it is not compatible with iPhone 5 and older.

What kind of lighting works best for Flash Tag?

Flash Tag AR can be played in dim to dark lighting. The only time it doesn't work is in bright light (like outside when it's sunny), or when the lighting is really uneven (like when you're inside but you are pointing toward a brightly lit window).

Do all players have to be on the same WiFi network?

Yes, in order to be in the same game, players must be on the same WiFi network.

What if my device isn't detecting other players?

Please make sure your Bluetooth is on, and make sure the place you are playing isn't too bright, and that the lighting isn't too uneven. Also, the game only detects other players up to ~30-45 feet away, so make sure they are in range.

My flash stopped, what's happening?

The system has temporarily disabled the flash because the phone is too hot. If you wait for your device to cool down, the flash will automatically be turned on again.

Will the game be available for Android soon?

If we get enough downloads, we will try to expand to Android as well!

How do I restore my health?

If you have not paid to upgrade: When you land on the screen titled, "You're Dead!" you have two options to revive yourself: you can either click the button at the bottom of the screen to view an ad and thereby instantly revive, or if you don't want to view an ad you can shake your device until your health circle gets back to 100%. If you have paid to upgrade: You will be revived automatically in a few seconds, though you can shake your phone to speed it up.

How far away can other players be?

The range for detection of other players is ~30-45 feet.

How many players can play at once?

Up to 10 players can be in the same game of Flash Tag AR.

What if my game is detecting other players, but instead of their names I see 'Not on same WiFi'?

Start by making sure all players are on the same WiFi network. If you are still having an issue, try a different WiFi network, as some are configured not to allow discoverability.

How do I change my name in the game?

Your name is the device name you chose during iPhone setup (can be changed in Settings > General > About > Name).

How do I change my character, rank or gun?

You can either earn new guns and characters by getting more kills and connecting with new friends, or you can purchase them (all except the rainbow, which can only be earned). All of the ranks can only be earned with more kills. Check the progress of your stats or make purchases by clicking the top right button which will take you to the store. Also, every time a new character, rank or gun is earned, a red badge will appear on the store button.
